Where they Were

Once a major airline hub, Pittsburgh had reinvented itself.

A new terminal is under construction. Energy innovation. Startup partnerships. A growing reputation for thinking beyond what an airport could be.

Leadership had a bold vision for the future. The question wasn’t where they were going.

It was whether the organization could grow fast enough to get there.

What was off Centre

The challenge wasn’t strategy. The challenge was readiness.

The CEO and leadership team were aiming far beyond incremental improvement, but the organization was still operating at yesterday’s pace, confidence and level of connection.

The future had arrived. The culture hadn’t fully caught up.

We already knew where we wanted to go. The work helped us become the team that could actually get us there.”

Finding Centre

centrepoint’s role wasn’t to create the vision. It was to help people see themselves inside it.

Over 12 weeks, leaders worked in cross-functional cohorts designed to strengthen ownership, communication and leadership capacity.
The work focused on:

  • Connecting individual growth to organizational ambition
  • Building confidence and leadership presence
  • Raising expectations and accountability
  • Strengthening trust across teams
  • Helping people understand the role only they could play

Not everyone responded the same way. That was part of the point. People had space to decide whether they wanted to build that future.

What Changed

Something shifted. People started showing up differently. Conversations became more direct. Teams became more connected. Leaders became more confident.

Some people discovered a new capacity. Others realized the future being built wasn’t theirs.

What remained was stronger alignment around a shared ambition, and a team more capable of delivering it.

The vision didn’t get smaller. The organization grew into it.

Team Reflection

“I started operating differently.”

“I found confidence I didn’t know I had.”

“We stopped acting like separate teams and started acting like one.”

I connect people with purpose.

My purpose is to help organizations and leaders find their centrepoint — their purpose — and through the clarity and energy that this unleashes, create more meaningful relationships and more impact on the things they truly care about. Purpose is where capitalism meets sustainability. And pretty soon, it will be the only way to do business.
