Fundraising vs. Fund Development

by Admin last modified 2008-01-11 13:39

There are key differentiations between the act of fundraising and the process of fund development.

Fundraising is the process of generating income for a non-profit organization outside of the funds earned through the organization’s programs and services. It is the process of seeking financial support from various sources in support of the organization or a specific project.

Fund Development is a series of deliberate activities by which an organization involves and retains funders in a donor-investor relationship. It involves the long-term activities such as identifying, nurturing and reinforcing relationships.
